Alle Belle/ Coconut Pan Rolls


Prep time 10 mins.                Cook time: 15 mins
Serves: Makes 12 coconut pan rolls.

These Goan coconut pan rolls/ Alle belle Tea time snack is very easy to make and are enjoyed by all....
Ingredients :

For the pan Rolls:

1 cup all purpose flour/ Maida
100 ml milk
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla essence ( optional)
Clarified butter/ Ghee 
Water as required 

For the Stuffing:

1 cup Fresh grated coconut 
½ cup Jaggery ( crushed)
Pinch of cardamom ( Optional)

Directions:

For the stuffing:

1.    Thaw all the ingredients in a frying pan on low flame, until all the mixture comes together .


For the Pan Rolls:

1. In a mixing bowl, put 1 cup of all purpose flour, add salt, milk and water as required. Whisk all the ingredients well to form a smooth batter of a dropping consistency, make sure there are no lumps.

2. Heat a small non- stick frying pan, grease it with clarified butter/ ghee. Pour some batter on the pan and immediately swirl the pan to spread the batter evenly.

3. Cook on one side , for about a minute on low flame and lift it with a spatula or just flip on a plate.( when it’s ready it leaves sides and lifts easily.)


4. Put a spoon of the filling in the pan roll and roll it...

Recipe Notes: 

While pour the batter and spreading it evenly make sure, the pan roll is not too thin as it may break, while removing it from the pan.
You can add an egg to the pan roll batter mixture if you like, the pan Rolls will come out easily from the pan. 
You can also add colour to the pan cake batter for it to look attractive specially for the kids.
