Cheese Bread Rolls



Prep Time: 15 mins.      Cook Time: 35 mins.

Passive Time: 1 hr 50 min. 

Serves: Makes 6 Bread

These Cheese bread Rolls are one of my favourites and  I am sure you will enjoy it too... This cheese bread recipe has the perfect balance of taste between the bread and the cheese.

Ingredients:

3 & 1/2 Cup Plain flour/ Maida

3/4 Cup grated Cheddar cheese

1 Cup/ 240 ml warm milk + 2 Tbsp for glazing

1 & 1/2 Tbsp Sugar

1 Tbsp butter

1 tsp salt 

1/4 Cup luke warm water

7 g/ or 2 & 1/4 tsp Yeast 


Directions:

1. In 1/4 Cup of luke warm water combine 7g yeast and set aside for 10 mins.

2. In a mixing bowl, put plain flour, add Sugar, salt, butter, milk, yeast mixture and knead to form a smooth elastic dough.

3. Place the dough in a bowl greased with oil, cover it with a cloth and set aside to rise for 1 hr. This is how the dough will look after an hour.

4. After an hour, punch down the dough untill smooth. Divide the dough into 6 parts and shape into rounds, place rolls on a lined or greased baking tray.

5. Let the dough rise on the baking tray for about 40 mins.

6. After 40 mins. brush the top with milk, top it up with loads of cheese and bake at at 200C / Gas mark 6 for about 35 mins.

Recipe Notes:

  • You can use cheese slices instead of grated cheese.
  • If your cheese is not salty or your not using any cheese and just want to make the simple bread you can add 2 tsp of salt instead of 1tsp to the bread mixture.
