Easy Donuts



Prep time: 10 mins.      Cook time: 15 mins.

     Serves: makes about 20 donuts

This Donut recipe is so easy to make, so if your craving for donuts and want to eat some right away, then this recipe is just for you. This is a special no yeast donut recipe and can be made with only 2 main ingredients, Self raising flour & Yogurt.

Ingredients:

3 cups ( 360gms) self raising flour

1 ½ cup yogurt (375 ml) plain

1 tsp vanilla essence  

½ cup Sugar ( powdered )


Directions :

1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, yogurt, vanilla essence and sugar. knead lightly to form a soft dough and rest aside for 30 mins.

2. Turn out the dough onto a well floured board. Press out the dough to about ½ inch (12 mm thickness) and cut out using a donut cutter.

3. In a deep frying pan, heat oil until hot enough, carefully drop the donuts and fry for about 1 minute on each side, on medium to low flame until light golden brown. 

4. Transfer the fried donuts on a plate lined with a paper towel. 


Enjoy plain hot donuts or Glaze the top with melted chocolate, cinnamon sugar or any of your favourite topping.


For the Chcolate glaze:

Ingredients:

180 grms chocolate 

1/2 cup fresh cream

Chocolate Sprinkles ( Optional)

Directions:

1. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler, take the bowl off the heat, add the fresh cream and mix well.


2. Dip the top of the donuts with the chocolate and Enjoy the Yummy Donuts.

Recipe Notes:

Glazing is best done while the doughnuts are still warm. The sugar holds on better.

You can skip the sugar and vanilla essence if you want.

  •  While frying, press the top of the donuts lightly so that they can puff up.

Don’t worry if u don’t have a donut cutter, you can use a cookie cutter.

Or you can also use a round glass to cut out the donut and use a small cap to cut out the middle.
