Prawn Masala Rawa fry

Masala rawa Fried Prawns is a traditional Goan dish. No Goan fish platter is complete without rawa fried delicacies. 

Ingredients:

20 medium sized Prawns / Shrimps
3 Tbsp Recheado Masala ( click link for Recipe)
1 cup Rawa/ semolina
1 lemon 
Salt to taste
Oil for frying

Directions :

1. Clean the prawns, devein and wash them well 2 -3 times ( click link below). If you like, you can slit open the prawn like a butterfly or just leave them whole.

2. Apply salt and Recheado Masala to the prawns and set aside to marinate for 30 mins.

3. In a plate take Rawa/ semolina and coat the prawns, ensure that it is fully coated, dust of any excess semolina.

4. Heat oil in a frying pan, place the coated prawns in the pan and sallow fry on low flame for about 10 mins. on each side or until brown and done.

5. Remove the fried prawns on a kitchen Paper towel, squeeze some lemon juice & Serve.

Enjoy Masala, Rawa fried Prawns while its hot!!

Recipe Notes:
  • Always fry prawns on low flame, do not cover while frying.
  •  Make sure not to burn the coating of the prawns.
  • You can also fry the prawns only with the Recheado masala
