Cuisine: Portuguese     Serves: 4

Serradura, also known as sawdust pudding, is a well-known Portuguese dessert. It is made with a simple combination of whipped cream and crumbled Marie biscuit.

Ingredients:

300 ml heavy whipping cream
1/2 tsp vanilla extract ( Optional)
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
8 Marie/ Tea biscuits (powdered)
1 tsp cocoa Powder

Directions:

1. Crumble the Mari/ tea biscuits in a food processor with 1 tsp of cocoa powder and set aside.

2. In a mixing bowl, whip the cream with an electric mixer until it slightly thickens.

3. Add vanilla essence (Optional) and sweetened condensed milk, whip until stiff peaks form.

4. In small dessert cups alternate with layers of cream and biscuit crumbles. Finish with some sprinkles of biscuit crumbles and refrigerate for min. 2-3 hours.
Recipe Notes:
  •  Make sure to use chilled whipping cream for this recipe.
  • Don't make the biscuit layer too thick, because they need to get moist after a few hours.
  • If you don’t have an electric mixer, you can use a blender. Put the chilled fresh cream, vanilla and condensed milk in the blender and blend until the cream is whipped. ( but be careful, if you over blend/whip the cream it will turn into sweet butter).
