Creamy Chicken puff



Prep time: 15 mins.       Cookt time: 20 mins.
Cuisine: British               Serves: 8 - 10 puffs

Ingredients 

1 puff pastry sheet (about 375 gms ready rolled)
150 grms boneless chicken( boiled & shredded)
1 onion chopped 
2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
¼ cup Cheddar cheese grated 
150 ml milk
¼ tsp black pepper powder or to taste
¼  tsp red chili powder ( optional)
sesame seeds ( optional)
3 Tbsp fresh coriander/cilantro chopped
egg (whisked)
salt to taste

Directions 

1. In a pan melt butter and sauté onion till soft and translucent, add 2 Tbsp flour fry for 1 min.

2. Gradually pour in the milk and thicken the sauce on medium-low heat. The sauce should be of a thick consistency.

3. Next, add the shredded chicken & cheese. Season the mixture with salt, black pepper and chill powder. Lastly add fresh coriander, give it a quick stir and set aside.

5. Thaw the puff pastry sheets and cut into rectangles ( 8- 10 pc). Add the filling on one side and fold over , lightly press the edges. 

6. Place on the baking tray and brush with whisked egg. Sprinkle some sesame seeds (optional).

7. Bake the puffs for 15-25 mins, in a  preheated oven, at 200C / Gas mark 6, and bake until the it fluffs up and turns golden.
