Cluster Beans vegetable
Cluster Beans Vegetable is also known as Gawar in India and Chitki Mitki in Goa. This is a simple vegetable recipe made with spices.
Ingredients:
- 250 grms Cluster Beans (chopped)
- 1 Onion ( chopped)
- 1 Tomato (chopped)
- 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 5- 6 Curry Leaves
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds / Jeera
- 1/4 - 1/2 tsp Red Chilly Powder
- 1 tsp Corriander Powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala Powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 Tbsp Oil
- 1/2 - 3/4 tsp Salt or as per taste
- 1/4 cup water or as required
Directions:
1. Heat 1 Tbsp of oil in a pan, then add the cumin seeds and let it splutter. Then on medium heat add the curry leaves and chopped onion and sauté till the onion gets soft & golden brown.
2. Next, add the chopped tomato and Sauté for a minute, then add ginger-garlic paste and sauté till the tomato turns soft.
3. Then, add the chilly powder, coriander powder, Garam masala, turmeric powder and sauté for a few seconds.
4. Then add the chopped beans, salt as per taste and give it a mix. Lastly add ¼ cup water and cook covered on low heat for 10 minutes.
Enjoy Cluster Beans Vegetable with Chapati or as a side dish with Rice.
Recipe Notes:
- Depending on the type of Cluster Beans the cooking time may vary, if the beans are young then they cook fast, if not it may require a bit more water & cooking time.
