Squids Chilly fry

This is one version of the Goan squids chilly fry which is tasty and not very spicy. The other version is with the spicy Goan Recheado masala.

Ingredients:

400 grms/ 10 medium Squids (cleaned & cut into rings) 
2 medium Onions ( sliced)
1 tomato ( sliced)
1 Capsicum/ Pepper ( cut into Julienne strips)
3 Green Chillies or as per taste (slit and deseeded)
¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
6 Garlic cloves (finely minced)
½  tsp Red Chilli Powder 
½ - 1 tsp Corriander Powder
3 Tbsp Tomato Ketchup 
2 Tbsp fresh Corriander leaves /Cilantro (finely chopped)
Salt – 1 tsp. or to taste
¼  tsp pepper powder 
Oil – 2 to 3 tbsp.


1. Apply salt to the squid rings and set aside. Meanwhile heat oil in a pan and add the finely chopped garlic and sauté for a few seconds on medium heat till fragrant. Next add the sliced onions, green chilies and sauté for 2-3 minutes on low to medium flame.

2. Then add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder , 1/2 tsp chilli powder and 1/2 tsp Corriander Powder, lower the heat and sauté for a few seconds.

3. Add the sliced tomatoes, capsicum and squids. Sauté for 2 minutes, till water is released by the squids. Add 2 Tbsp hot water and cook covered on low heat for 3 to 4 minutes or till the squids are done as per your preference.

 5.   Open the lid, add ketchup, 1/4 tsp pepper, salt if required and fresh Corriander leaves. Mix well and cook for a few seconds, Serve hot....
