Marble Cake

Marble Cake is a lovely Tea time treat cake, with a mix of Chocolate and vanilla flavour.

Ingredients 

225 grms  Butter ( softened)
225 grms Caster Sugar
4 Eggs 
225 grms Self – raising flour
3 Tbsp Milk 
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 Tbsp cocoa powder


Directions

1. In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and caster sugar together, then add 4 eggs, one at a time, and mix well after each addition.(* see recipe notes).

2. Next, fold In the self-raising flour, 3 Tbsp milk and 1 tsp vanilla extract and mix until the mixture is smooth.

3. Divide the mixture between 2 bowls, then add 2 Tbsp of cocoa powder into one of the bowls and mix well. 

4. Grease an 8 inch cake tin and line the bottom with parchment paper. Dollop 2 spoons of the chocolate and vanilla cake mixes into the tin alternately. 

5.      With a skewer, swirl around the mixture in the tin to create a marbled effect.

6. Bake the cake in a pre-heated Oven at 180C fan / 160C gas / Gas mark 4, for 45-55 mins. or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.

If your using an electric Mixer and want to make things easy, Just take a mixing bowl, add 225g butter, 225g caster sugar, 4 eggs, 225g self-raising flour, 3 tbsp milk and 1 tsp vanilla extract and mix for 3-5 mins. or untill u get a smooth batter. Then follow from step 3.
 ( Please make sure to follow the steps as mentioned in the recipe above if your mixing the batter with hand)
